THE HENGE ROOM
The Avebury monument is a henge, a type of monument consisting of a large circular bank with an internal ditch. Although the henge is not perfectly circular, it has a diameter of about 420 metres (460 yd) across. The only known comparable sites of similar date are only a quarter of the size of Avebury.
Avebury was one of a group of monumental sites that were established in this region during the Neolithic. Its monuments comprise the henge and associated long barrows, stone circles, avenues, and a causewayed enclosure.

The Henge room at Dorwyn Manor has a comfortable King Size bed, together with a single bed, with an en-suite bathroom. Although Avebury’s pre-historic stones are only walking distance away, in your room you have the modern luxuries of a flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
